UPDATE: Brought a cheap new adapter that is Windows 10 compatible to solve. Been stressing my computing when running high spec games (ultra/fantastic qualities. I downloaded the TL-WN722N V1 client and driver from TP-links site. How can I solve Audio driver issue in Macbook Pro running on Windows 10?
The TP-LINK N150 High Gain Wireless USB Adapter (TL-WN722N) allows you to connect a desktop or laptop computer to a wireless network and access high-speed Internet connections. It is compliant with IEEE 802.11n and it provides wireless speeds up to 150Mbps, which is beneficial for online gaming or even video streaming. Also, wireless security encryption can be established simply at a push of a QSS (quick setup security) button, protecting the network from outside threats. Enjoy the extended range provided by the 4dBi external antenna connected to the unit. Adjust and align the antenna to achieve improved reception.
Use this wireless network adapter with Windows, Mac, Linux and Unix machines effectively. Flip it on or off using the built-in switch. Use WPA, WPA2 or WEP encryption with the TP-Link USB adapter. I originally purchased this in hopes that it would be capable of packet injection, however, I found there to be two versions upon arrival. The first version (1.0) does support packet injection while version 2 does not. After doing some research I've found that version 1.0 is nearly impossible to come by anymore which is rather disappointing.
However, despite not being what I originally intended it to be, the TL-WN722N gets the job done. I'm running a Kali Linux machine and this adapter was literally plug and play. I'm in a dorm housing environment and this has greatly increased my bandwidth and internet speeds despite not being able to change wireless channels. Kudos to the manufacturer and Walmart. The former for making this thing and the latter for their expected excellent service for pricing it fairly and getting it to me. Network related gizmos used to be a puzzle to get installed in the past but all that has changed and TP-Link did a great job with that part of the 'operation'. Sheesh, this thing fires it's radar through walls like a missile resulting in an EXCELLENT signal.
Have to think really hard to find a CON. Well, maybe a longer wire so that the antenna can be positioned in the optimal place? I had to move the antenna part about an INCH to go from 'Very Good' signal to 'Excellent' signal and this could come into play in a more difficult environment (walls, stairs, corners, etc).
Lastly, my overall rating is really VERY GOOD cause it's better than 'Good'. Don't know why I'm doing this cause you know what it leads to. In case you don't - it just leads to ANOTHER TRACKING cookie for your computer to let them know what you may be shopping for when you go online. But WM is 3 for 3 with my online purchases so I'm gonna make an exception this time and let them track away. BTW, at the end of this submittal (YES, that is spelled correctly) form there's a box that reads 'How old are you?' , but the drop down only offers numbers for your choices? I was looking for words.
Like, 'How old are YOU?'
